On 10 September, representatives of the Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) took part in Riga Aviation Forum 2026 (RAF 2026) — a major aviation industry event bringing together experts, industry leaders and representatives of academic institutions from Latvia, the Baltic region and across Europe.

On 4 September, Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) held an Administrative and Methodological Meeting, bringing together the Institute’s management, academic and administrative staff, as well as representatives of the Convention, Senate and Student Council. The meeting reviewed the key results of the 2025/2026 academic year, discussed achievements and current challenges, and defined priorities for the new academic year.

On September 4, Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) officially opened the 2026/2027 academic year. The ceremonial event was opened by RAI Vice-Rector for Studies K. Savenkov, who welcomed the students and wished them a successful and inspiring academic year filled with new knowledge and achievements.

We are looking forward to the new academic year and are especially pleased to welcome our first-year students to the Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) community!

Full-time studies: Knowledge Day event at 9:30 AM in Room 100.

Part-time studies: Classes start at 4:20 PM, according to the timetable.

Students from Kazakhstan’s Kazaeronavigatsia have successfully completed a two-month flight training programme at Pelican Flight Training in the United States. Flight training is an important component of the professional education of future air traffic controllers. It provides students with an opportunity to experience aviation operations from a pilot’s perspective and gain a better understanding of aircraft operations, pilot workload and in-flight decision-making, as well as the importance of effective pilot–air traffic controller interaction. During the two-month training period, the students enhanced their practical knowledge and skills in a real aviation environment while gaining valuable international experience in one of the world’s most active aviation regions. The students will now continue their studies at Riga Aeronautical Institute within the Air Traffic Management study programme 

Today we celebrate the anniversary of RAI – a day to proudly reflect on our achievements and look ahead with confidence. Over the years, we have grown into a respected centre of education and research in aviation, transport, and engineering.

Vadym Sytin, a second-year student at Riga Aeronautical Institute, participated in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) hosted by Kielce University of Technology, Poland. The programme combined intensive practical training, international collaboration, and cultural exploration, providing students with an excellent opportunity to strengthen their professional competencies while gaining valuable international experience.

On the 10th of July at 11:00, Riga Aeronautical Institute organizes OPEN DOOR DAY.
